Budapest: What I did

Before my trip, I compiled a list of things I wanted to do/see in Budapest. I’m very impressed that I managed to do the majority of them! And on a budget. Seriously, Budapest is super cheap!!!

My list:

  • Royal Palace
  • River Danube and the bridges from a great vantage point
  • Fisherman’s Bastion
  • Buda Hills
  • The Great Synagogue

  • The Basilica of St Stephen
  • Memento Park
  • Szechenyi Baths – saw them but didn’t go in
  • Castle Hill Caves
  • House of Terror
  • Ruin Bar – found some but didn’t go in
  • Obuda
  • Margaret Island
  • Citadella
  • Aquincum

Szechenyi Bridge over the Danube

We didn’t get to explore Buda and Obuda as much as I would’ve liked, nor did we make it over to Margaret Island. I also found a few ruin bars, but didn’t go in them. They seemed to be full of 20 year old students and I felt like I would’ve been out of place!!

It was a jam packed trip! I cannot recommend Budapest enough!!
